Lost Teeth
Did you know?
A recent survey revealed that more Americans are afraid of losing their natural teeth than of catching the flu, or even getting a root canal. And of those surveyed, 60% were more afraid of a root canal than getting their teeth pulled.
March 17th-23rd is Root Canal Awareness Week, and the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) is on a mission to dispel the notion that root canals are painful. Having a root canal at the first sign of necessity is often the key to keeping natural teeth, rather than losing them to disease.
“We want patients to know that there is no reason to be anxious about receiving a root canal,” said AAE President Dr. James C. Kulild.
“With today’s advanced technologies, root canals are no more painful than getting a filling–root canal treatment is actually one of the best ways to save your natural tooth!”

A Spanish dentist has become so angry at his patient that he actually pulled out the implants he’d recently completed for her!
Can you imagine??
Apparently, the patient had been treated by the dentist for several months before inquiring about the total cost.
As it turns out, she owed him several thousand Euros and didn’t understand why it was so expensive. Her questions quickly lead to a heated argument, after which, according to the police report she filed after the incident, the dentist sat her down in a clinic chair and pulled out all of the teeth he had implanted.
The dentist is set to appear in court later this month.
Yikes! We promise our billing procedures are a lot more upfront, and a lot less confrontational than the above.
Yet more lost teeth news…

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has been accused of damaging an Australian fan’s teeth after throwing a microphone into the audience.
Oops.
The victim, Darren Wright, said the mic cut his lip, chipped one front tooth, and knocked off a piece of the other front tooth, exposing a nerve.
A father of four, Wright plans to sue, saying “at the very least” he needs cash to cover dental bills that could total more than $5,000.
This isn’t the first time Rose has found himself in hot legal water because of teeth. According to the AP, in 2006 Stockholm police arrested Rose after he allegedly bit a hotel security guard in the leg.
You’d think he’d have learned his lesson by now.
